Rifflsee & Glacier Ski Areas
Skiing on the Tyrol’s highest glacier
Thanks to the connection of the Rifflsee ski area with the Pitztal Glacier ski area we can offer you know 40.6km of pistes in the winter. You can choose from easy, intermediately difficult and difficult downhills, either wide glacier pistes or perfectly groomed pistes down to the valley to Mittelberg and Mandarfen.
Enjoy the incomparable view of the Tyrol’s highest mountain, the Wildspitze, and the surrounding fifty 3,000m-high mountains of the Pitztal from Austria’s highest-located café at an altitude of 3,440m.
Summer on the Pitztal Glacier
The valleys head and end is the Pitztal Glacier. With the Glacier Express you ride up to an altitude of 2,840m. From there the new Wildspitzbahn lifts brings you to Austria’s highest-located café at an altitude of 3,400m. The Tyrol’s highest mountain, the Wildspitze (3,774m) seems to be within reach from up there.
The newly built platform on the summit of the Hintere Brunnenkogel offers a breath-taking panoramic view. If the sky is clear you can see mountains, which are more than 150km away. With the new VISCOPE-telescope you learn interesting facts on the surrounding mountains – and this free of charge.
